Will you share my name with other companies?
Off the Beaten Path respects your privacy. We never sell, rent, or trade the names or email addresses of
our customers. You will not receive email from us (other than information about your order) unless you join
our mailing list. If you opt-in you will receive the quarterly class listing and an occasional “special event”
notice. You may opt out at any time by sending us an email asking to "unsubscribe".
Do you have a minimum order?
Off the Beaten Path’s online store has a minimum order amount of $10.00 before shipping charges.
Do you ship to Canada or other international destinations?
Off the Beaten Path does not accept international orders at this time.
Can I have my order sent to someone else’s address?
You may have your order sent to any address you choose, but to help protect our customers from credit card fraud, we require that the billing address for your order and the billing address that your credit card company has on file
match.
Is my credit card information safe when I order from you online?
You can feel safe when shopping online at Off the Beaten Path. All personal and financial information is
secured by SSL (secure socket layer) 128 bit encryption* during transmission from your computer to our
site. Further, all financial information remains encrypted while your order is being processed.
*SSL, a critical element of a secure Website, ensures that the information
sent by a server is identical to that received by a Web visitor - that no change
has taken place.
Encryption is the security technology that protects the privacy of information sent over a network.
Encryption changes a data stream of bits from information to something that appears random. Anyone
who intercepts the encrypted data gets a data stream that doesn't represent any information. It is noise,
garbage, and worthless data.
What about sales tax?
Off the Beaten Path is required to automatically charge and withhold the applicable sales tax for orders to
be delivered to addresses within the State of New Jersey. Each customer shall be solely responsible for all
sales taxes on orders shipped to any other state.
When will I get my order?
We try to ship your order as soon as possible after receiving it. There is normally a 1 to 3 day processing
time on all orders. All online orders will be processed and shipped during regular store hours: Tuesday and
Wednesday 6-9, Thursday and Friday 10-9, and Saturday 10-6 EST. We are closed on
Sunday and Monday.
Suppose I don’t like something I’ve ordered?
Off the Beaten Path wants you to be happy with the items you receive. Almost everything is returnable if
you are not happy with it; exceptions are oils, herbs, incense, ink, candle wax remover, and pierced
earrings. Why not these items? Pierced earrings are not returnable under NJ health laws, and the others
are all items that could possibly be adulterated. Once they leave our hands we can no longer vouch for the
contents, so in the interest of public safety, we do not allow these items to be returned. Any other item that
you are dissatisfied with is returnable within 10 days as long as it is in the original packaging and is in
saleable condition. The cost of return shipping shall be the responsibility of the customer. You must call or
email us and receive an RMA (return merchandise authorization) number, IT MUST BE CLEARLY
WRITTEN ON THE SHIPPING LABEL. All returns must be insured for full merchandise value, as the
returned items may be damaged coming back to us; we will not credit or replace items broken on the
return shipment to us, you must seek repayment from the shipper you used for the return.
This isn’t what I ordered, now what?
Off the Beaten Path will, upon your request, replace any merchandise that is received as the result of a
picking error. If you received incorrect merchandise, notify Off the Beaten Path immediately. We will give
you an RMA number and will either issue a call tag or reimburse you for the amount of the return shipping.
THE RMA NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY WRITTEN ON THE SHIPPING LABEL. Follow our directions
regarding insurance on the return shipment.
My order arrived damaged, what do I do?
Notify the carrier and Off the Beaten Path immediately if you receive damaged merchandise. The carrier
may request to inspect the damaged goods. Save all packaging materials as a claim cannot be filed
unless the packaging materials are inspected with the damaged goods. Follow the directions the carrier
gives you regarding the filing of a claim. Off the Beaten Path will, whenever possible, replace the item
immediately.
