	What is Vedic Thai-Yoga Bodywork (sometimes called Thai Massage)?
	Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage belongs to one of the four branches of Traditional Thai Medicine (the other three include herbal remedies, nutritional medicines and spiritual practices) and uses assisted stretching and deep massage to relieve muscular tension, improve circulation, boost the immune system, promote self-healing, and balance the body's energy field.
	Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage, or Nuad Boram ("nuad," to touch with the purpose of healing, and "boram," ancient, sacred and revered), was created centuries ago based on principles associated with Yoga and Ayurveda ("the science of life," traditional medicine native to Indian subcontinent), and infused with influences from Indian, Chinese and Southeast Asian medical traditions. A Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage is different from what most westerners visualize as a massage; the rhythmic interactions between practitioner and recipient during the treatment often have the appearance of a slow and graceful "dance."
	Nuad Boram is performed on a floor mat; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. No oils or creams or fragrances are used. The practitioner guides and assists the recipient through a series of yoga postures (or "asanas") and muscular stretches (some combined with "pranayama," or breathing techniques), while using the thumbs, palms, forearms, feet and knees to apply pressure through rocking, pressing and rhythmic muscle compression along energy meridians known in Nuad Boram as "Sen" lines. These manipulations stimulate and release the flow of "lorn" or "energy" along and through the Sen lines, resulting in a comprehensive full body treatment. The legs and feet of the practitioner can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient, or to provide the massaging action. A full Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage treatment can last two hours or more, and includes pressing and stretching the entire body, including the fingers and toes.
	The postures, asanas and stretches applied by the practitioner are intended to bring relief from stress, a deep relaxation, warmed and stretched muscles, a healing energy flow, greater flexibility, increased and focused energy levels, prevention of injury, relief from sore and aching muscles and joints, detoxification, and a feeling of confidence and well-being. Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage is a perfect preparation for anyone in training for an athletic event, a performance, or any kind of physical or mental test; it is highly therapeutic for those in pain from tension, an injury or an illness.

	The shamanic work offered can be divided into 2 types - 1 hour healing sessions and longer Shamanic Healing Ceremonies. The way Lorraine normally works with a client is first she journeys on what healing the client needs and then provides that healing in the healing session. This enables her to best work in conjunction with spirit and allows spirit to heal through her. She also often incorporates herbalism and aromatherapy into her healing sessions.

	"Reiki" (pronounced ray-key) comes from the Japanese ideograms "Rei" (spiritual wisdom) and "Ki" (life force). This universal energy has been referred to as "prana," "white light," "Christ-light," "the Force," or "chi."
	Reiki is mentioned in the ancient history of Japan and the Buddhist sutras (sacred writings). Its origin goes back at least 2,500 years. For many years this knowledge was a well guarded secret and only a few were trained in it, partially due to the high cost of learning and being attuned.
	Reiki is Universal Love; a gift from the Divine for healing, but is not a religion. Rather it is an ancient and simple system of laying on of hands that was returned to us by Dr. Mikao Usui (after being “lost” for many hundreds of years). Simply, the universal energy flows through a person (the vessel) and sends it through their hands to whomever they are working on. The hands are rested gently on the body and remain still for several minutes without any kind of manipulation. There is no need for an altered state of consciousness. The energy transfers easily through clothing, allowing the subject to remain fully clothed. Reiki works on the whole person – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
	Emotional upset and mental stress will, with time, surface and manifest itself as physical imbalances, attitudes, and destructive habits. For example, emotional upset in the form of anxiety and fear manifests itself in the stomach, while grief and sorrow manifest in the heart and lungs. Working with Reiki can help heal physical ailments and even prevent them from occurring by healing and balancing the body, mind, and spirit. In addition to these benefits, Reiki also balances your Chakras. It is a natural holistic method of therapy.
	What can you expect during a Reiki treatment? You may experience warmth or tingling, deep relaxation, a feeling of general well-being, relief from mental or emotional stress, aches and pains, allergy and sinus problems, even relief from PMS symptoms. Although Reiki is not a substitute for traditional medical practice, Reiki works well with and can enhance many other healing modalities, including aromatherapy.
